Atomic Tonic

I'm Nicole. I'm married to Niclas. Niclas is a Swede. He's been in the states since December 1999. Sometimes he still says things funny but at this stage I refuse to correct him as the stuff he gets wrong is pretty charming.

We met the old-fashioned way. In a bar. I moved in with him two weeks after we met and we got married in Vegas 9 months after that. We didn't elope as we brought along our family and a handful of friends, but the wedding planning took two phone calls and my MIL made my dress out of $6 worth of fabric we bought in chinatown.

We used to live in Boston but moved to the 'burbs when we decided to own instead of rent. We've got a cat we ignore, a Saab, a Volvo (See? Swede) and two kids.

The older of the two is Matilda. She turned two on February 1st, 2007. She says stuff wrong all the time too, but I tend to correct her. She's also better at Swedish than I am which has caused some confusion when her father is not around to translate.

The younger is Linnea, born on February 7th, 2007. The kids are two years and one week apart.

We're done having kids now as I want my body for myself. (Well. Linnea can have my rack for a year +, but I want to lie on my stomach without a care in the word.)

We're waiting for the cat to die. We go to Sweden once a year. Niclas should really get a job with Apple -- he is obsessed. I like to run. I started baking when I was pregnant with Matilda and acquired a sweet tooth. I started sewing when I was pregnant with Linnea. It did nothing to curb my sweet tooth, but at least I got over my fear of my sewing machine. I used to read, but not so much with that kind of time anymore. I used to wears heels too but I've been wearing a pair of Crocs for three weeks straight now. I'm currently home with the kids, but that won't be forever.
