Anywhere from 10:30 (last night) to 2am (a few nights ago), Matilda joins us in bed for the remainder of the night. The last two days, the top of Matilda's head has smelled like my armpit.
It's Summer!
Yesterday afternoon she taught herself how to sleep on her stomach. She's slept on her stomach before, but this time it looked comfortable. Head turned to the side, legs out like a frog -- instead of face-down and wheezing.
She threw her silver rattle across the kitchen floor this morning. I walked over to get it and began what is sure to be a couple of years of Fetch with the baby. When she isn't tossing the rattle under the stove, she's chewing on its corners.
She's really taken to eating and last night put away an unholy amount of rice cereal. After panicking about her being underweight, I think we're going to need to teach this kid about portion control.
She talks a lot and when she smiles, even her feet look happy. But she still isn't laughing for us. I knew babies learning two languages take longer to speak, but I didn't know it takes them longer to laugh. I can't wait for the laugh.
